I am jumping back on the 1990s velour track suit look and I couldn’t be happier! But this time around, it is not Juicy Couture, but instead New York City designer, Suzie Kondi. The track suits come in a selection of color and I want them all. Not only that, but they also come in kid’s sizes, too, so you can match your daughter. It’s as if my dream came true — matching, velour, track suit, comfortable, and rainbow colors.
YUP. We are living the dream.
Earlier this Fall, I saw one of my besties with the perfect shoe on, and so….I bought them for myself! They are the perfect luxe, high-end sneaker, with great Italian leather, but at an accessible price point. The brand is Greats, and great indeed they are. They are basic and subtle, but made with the most perfect quality material.
I am not joking when I say that my new favorite pajamas are the Josie Enchanted Garden PJ set. They are perfection. Great for cold weather, hot weather, alone, surrounded by other people, cute, flirty, fun, and oh so comfortable. Terrific to lay around the house while looking put together, chic, and fashionable in your pajamas.
They come in two different color ways: one in hibiscus and one in coral.
Before the holidays, one of my best friends introduced me to the most amazing wool shoes. She and her husband both have them in multiple colors. Made from New Zealand merino wool, they are lightweight, breathable, fashionable, chic, comfortable, (and warm)! (Links: women and men.) Not only are they good looking but they are a good price point ($95) for a shoe you will wear everyday!
Wool and good looking!! (These are a men’s pair I got for Ken.. I am buying a pair soon!)
ALERT: Natori has introduced a NEW bra.. even better, a NEW FEATHERS bra. I am a dedicated Natori bra wearer, especially the Natori Feathers Bra (and undies). So this is a win win win, happy happy day for me! This feathers bra is wireless (on trend) and comes with the signature lace details and scalloped plunging V neckline.
Comes in a variety of colors: the everyday nude and black, as well as multiple fashion colors.
Before I talk about my new robe obsession, I have to discuss something that makes me so happy; Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton dating. YUP, I know, totally pathetic and oh-so-weird, but I am a huge fan of The Voice. And I kinda feel like I did watching Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf when they were together – same type of butterflies and happiness. Gwen and Blake are just too cute, and oh so fun. So watch this. I promise you that you will laugh and smile.
Gwen and Blake. My pals.
Super early in the morning, I tend to browse the Natori website, searching for the next addition to my ever-growing collection of Natori goodies. So when I came across Natori’s new Pure Allure Brief in its + Support collection, I immediately clicked-clicked-clicked (YUP, this homegirl loves granny panties!). While I’ve always been a fan of big undies (Feathers Undies and Bliss Undies), reading “+” and “support” made me a tad bit skeptical. But low and behold, the undies blew me away and immediately became my new favorite pair of undies EVER.
When you have a round tush like this (front and center), you need some “support.” #PolishTush #Badankadank. And yes, in this picture, I am sporting the Pure Allure Panties (and no panty lines!)
Summer uniform: elastic wear shorts! More precisely, Josie Patch Isles Shorts. Soft woven… drawstring… the fabric is extremely soft, comfortable to slip on, and light for summer days and nights.
When you look at my closet, aside from my Stan Smiths, Birkenstocks, and running shoes; the other pair of shoes I wear 99% of the time are my Clog Master Clogs. I wrote about the-amazing-comfortable-incredible-custom-made-clogs in July, 2013 (eeks almost 2 years ago), when Ken and I visited Cecilia’s storefront in Portland, Oregon. But I never updated you all after we actually received them. So ladies and gentlemen, here are pictures of the heavenly clogs. And if you are on the fence about making the schlep to an appointment or taking the time, trust me, it is definitely worth it. These are a gift to yourself. And your feet.
My collection. Once I purchased the clog master clogs, I never stepped foot again into my danskos. These shoes are life savers. They fit the foot perfectly (due to Cecilia’s amazing technical know-how) and feel great to walk in.
Readers- First off, thanks so much for your support / comments / emails after my post on Monday. It was a much more personal and vulnerable post than normal. Although I am a still uncomfortable about being so exposed on the internets (why hello fertility treatments), I am glad I went out on a limb. And all your support and feedback makes it all worth it… On to today’s post!
My favorite go-to pajama (other than a tee shirt and undies) is a classic sleepshirt. And now, Natori has created the best sleepshirt of them all. White, crisp, cotton with embroidery! I brought it with us on spring break vacation last week, but instead of sleeping in it, I used it as a beach cover up! Multifunctional, beautiful, and comfortable!
The look. And don’t mind the background — can it be any more beautiful? DAMN I was a lucky girl….
Remember my Stan Smith obsession? Well, still obsessed. But this time around, with the black and leopard version. I MEAN, COME ON, right??? How perfect is it? Leopard AND Stan Smiths? Sold, sold, sold.
Black and leopard (or is it black/blue or white/gold?)
Thanks to everyone for all your encouragement and support in regards to Ken becoming a rock star for the day…..Still feeling buzzed and pumped by the experience. Seriously, I am in love with the guys of OAR….and now I can’t stop listening to Peace. On repeat. Ten million times in the last 3 days. Call me obsessed. Watch out, Babers, you have COMPETITION. Anywho, back to reality. That reality, is socks. Yep, socks.
My mother’s go-to-present for everyone in the family is socks. Handmade knitted socks, skiing socks, everyday socks, fancy socks, socks, socks, socks, socks. As a result, I am fond of socks. I can never have too many and am always on the lookout for the new, best, prettiest, cutest sock (odd, quirky, and so me). So it was a perfect coincidence when I stumbled upon a sock store in Paris in October (was that really 2 months ago??). And not just any sock store — but a hip, high-end, and luxurious store. Tabio, is considered the hot and trendy sock. The sock is actually made in Japan by a crafts person. They come in all shapes and colors: ultra trendy, thigh highs, as well as models in cashmere, angora, lace, super soft wool. To view the various sock options, go here.
One of the pairs of socks that I purchased. Of course, it looks avant garde, tie dye, and artsy. It is the perfect thickness and height (not too high, not too low…Goldilocks a la socks).
New season (it is Spring, right? NOT in NYC…) so new lounge pants from Josie! These Josie Hollywood Boho pants (now sold out) are perfection; the right combination of slinky and luxurious, cozy and bohemian. The vibrant print is an ultra-soft woven with colorblock detail, and the drawstring waist is easy to wear. These pants are the right choice to slip on to when lounging around the house, whether it is daytime or nighttime.
How cool and boho does the Josie model look in the whole ensemble?
I am craving the nights where I don’t have to wear slippers, sweatpants, long tees, sweatshirts, and robes to bed! I am so sick of this Winter, specifically the cold! And hopefully soon, I can wear just a sleepshirt to bed, and be warm enough. SOON knock on wood. I am super excited about wearing the Josie Spicy Essentials Sleepshirt — and it is exactly that — spicy AND essential.
Ironic, right? We are in a massive Polar Vortex Part 2 in NYC, and I am writing about summer shoes??? BUT…..Espadrilles are my new jam –especially when they are colorful, playful, fun and different. Which makes the We Are Handsome x Soludos the perfect shoe! (And yes, I realize that in most places in the country it IS still winter, and will be for quite some time, but hey, SPRING BREAK is around the corner!)
Winter is here in NYC, which means it’s hat, glove, scarf, and mitten time. One has to bundle up to survive the cold. However, doing errands (especially pushing a stroller, carrying kids, picking up toy cars and airplanes) is almost impossible with normal gloves. My new jam? Fingerless gloves! They are warm, cozy, and give you the freedom and flexibility to move your fingers around. PLUS, they look cool. Kind of like leg warmers for your wrists.
Drop Crotch? Denim? Yep! You know it!
HEY GIRLFRIEND. You know it! HOLLA AT CHA DROP CROTCH.
Cold weather= not my favorite. I prefer hot, sunny, tank top days to cold, grey coat weather. That said, I do love coming home in the evening and throwing on some warm sweatpants. I know… sexy; but incredibly cozy and comfortable. Currently, I love these Josie Pajamas. Don’t you?
High summer is here, so grab your sandals and get ready to dance the night away! The flat traditional Spanish sandal is my footwear of choice these days. They are as comfortable as Birkenstocks, yet more sophisticated and subtle. Easy to slip on and off, cozy for your feet to walk around in, and stylish to wear with any outfit.
These Spanish flat sandals are created by the NY line, Plomo, although a lot of different brands sell very similar versions.
Hi ladies! Thanks so much for all the positive feedback from the feature in Lonny. We were really nervous about it, but we’re very happy with the article. The Lonny team was so great to work with! SOOOO….one of the most frequently asked questions was what dress I wore for the Pound Ridge shoot. Good question, as I *LOVE* this dress and it is oh-so-perfect for hot-sunny-firefly types of summer days and nights.
Sorry for yet ANOTHER post of this picture, but instead of focusing on the whole image, look specifically at the dress! (It turned out nice on camera, right?)
This white dress is by Mes Demoiselles — an oh so chic and fashionable Parisian line. The dress is a crinkled gauze and eyelet, with a gathered elastic waist, and tiers added to the skirt base. It comes with a cotton slip lining so you don’t have to worry about panty lines. It is a perfection combination of casual and put-together, day and night, easy and effort-less, vintage and new.
You can wear it with or without a belt, too. The belt adds a little more flavor and style, but I also love the simplicity and solid color without the belt.
My modeling career — awkward!
I am in the midst of end of the school year craziness — exams, grades, packing up, awards assemblies, and commencement. Busy time for all teachers! As this is my last year being an official teacher (embracing the change and BEING BOLD!), I am even more swamped with deadlines, boxes, and goodbye. So instead of my normal blog post, Ali to the rescue! Thank you, Contributing Editor!
Have you ever dreamed of a Flip Flop – Clog hybrid? If so, FLOGGS may be the shoes for you. FLOGG is a revolutionary new category of footwear -inspired by the laid back California lifestyle and invented for all women who want to feel good and look fantastic without sacrificing design for comfort.
In the 1970’s the womens’ liberation movement was born. The quest for equality in society made women also yearn for freedom of expression in their clothing. The Europeans influenced American fashion with sexualized glamour, style icons Jane Birkin, Bianca Jagger, Brigit Bardot & Farrah Fawcett made miniskirts and platforms popular silhouettes that keep re-appearing on today modern catwalks.
I love the Cassie:
Swedish clog / high heel / birkenstock
Now with FLOGG, retro classic shapes are made more comfortable with the flip flop EVA component. The cushioned material (ethylene vinyl acetate, or EVA) lays on top of the sturdy natural wood platform. There’s also built in arch support inside of the shoe!
The cushion makes them a great choice for walking around the city or hanging at the beach. I’m not a fan of being held back by my footwear, but I’m also unwilling to wear running shoes to get around. For that reason, FLOGGS are an awesome walking companion.
If you want to learn more about how your feet change over time, and how shoes can help to maintain the integrity of your feet, check out this post about FLOGGS with advice from a podiatrist.
A new favorite Spring Lounge pant — Thank you, ever-so-stylish-mother-in-law, Josie Natori! Everything about this pant screams WEAR ME NOW! I love the easy drawstring low-drop waist, the black/white combination, and the fun palm print.
Palm-pants. Can’t get much better than this.
Front shot. Too early to have a picture of my face.
I love the look — and not just for bedtime! Buy now here, and don’t forget to get an extra pair for your Mother! Happy Mother’s Day!
Girls, what is a better way to start fresh in the Spring weather than with some new undies? New undies are the freshest (and cleanest) way to start a new season! Especially when they are colorful, comfortable, and stylish. So toss out your old, tattered granny panties, and bring in some new Josie panties! Thank you, Josie Hippi for being the best undies out there.
Trio of Hippi styles.
Josie Hippies come in three different styles; Rio, Cotton, and Cotton polka dot! All are a must and a staple for your new Spring start. Rio is a fun alternative to the cotton hippi: a fun, flirty print which you can mix and match with your favorite Josie bra. 95% cotton, 5% lycra spandex, they are extremely comfortable, seamless, and mindless — you barely know that you have anything on!
I love this floral, colorful, polka dot pattern. Girly, cute, and playful.
PARTY IN YOUR PANTS!
