Earlier this month, I was on a run and noticed a couple (man and woman) wearing the coolest looking fleeces. I instantly knew that I not only wanted, but also needed this coat.

Pink and green and fuzzy and warm. And peace.

My mother is the best at sending care packages as everything she puts in them are unique and cool. The most recent care package included the new Amanda Gorman book, vintage stickers, notebooks, and whimsical, fun pencils. I love these pencils — not only because they are functional and have a purpose — but because they are happy, joyful, and make you smile!

Sprinkle fairy dust on a gold pencil! SCREAMS JOY! I love this!
Thanks to Instagram, I tend to find random and small lines of clothing that I fall madly in love with. The most recent discovery is a pair of shorts from Kas Maria. She has no website, no email, I just DM’d her saying I loved the shorts and voila, transaction. Kassandra (Kas Maria) sews her own designs and I love everything about them. These vibrant, colorful, ever so joyful bright floral shorts made me smile the minute I saw them on Instagram and I love them even more in person.

Patchwork floral shorts — a different fabric on each side of the shorts. Drawstring and high waisted. Comfortable and oh so cute.
This past weekend, I had two friends from Oregon come and visit. They brought a bunch of gifts to help remind me of home. My favorite is the Boho Bandeau — a rainbow tie dye running buff — that is so Oregon, so me, and so practical. I love it! SO SO much.

Me and the wonderful Eugene friends wearing my Buff gift! The buff is the rainbow ear muff / headband / multipurpose WONDER piece of fabric.
My only purchase of the summer has been not *one* but *two* pairs of African printed overalls from Royal Native. They are so fun, vibrant, unique, and different. I ordered one pair and loved them so much, that I immediately ordered a second. If they weren’t all currently sold out, I would order a third pair (a girl can’t have too many crazy pairs of overalls, can she?)

The yellow overalls. They are described as “THE SEXY TOMBOY piece de resistance in your wardrobe,” and I couldn’t agree more.
Introduced to me by a dear friend, these bracelets are a taste-the-rainbow flirty, fun, summery addition that add (lots) of pops of color to your wrist. Roxanne Assoulin bracelets. They remind me of chiclets (the gum) and instantly bring a smile to my face. It doesn’t hurt that these were recently mentioned in the NYTimes….

Trio Package. Screams HAPPY SUMMER!
Ladies, take a look at my new sandals. I get happy just LOOKING at them. They are bright, fun, flamboyant, colorful, special, unique, and simply happy.

Party on my feet!
I have a friend who always wears the most fun, quirky, and playful jewelry. Everything she wears, I want to copy / steal (imitation = sincerest form of flattery) and this time around, I copied her exactly and got the same bracelet from Venessa Arizaga. (Thank you!) And look how FUN and COOL and PLAYFUL it is? I feel like I am 14 years old… youthful and whimsical.

Focus on the middle one with the words. Do you get it??? And yes, I am a “bomb-shell” in birkenstocks. #obvi
This past Spring, we spruced up our Living Room in our NYC apartment and made it more hippy, laid back, colorful, and low key. We wanted a relaxed and fun feel, without breaking the bank. So, this footstool was the perfect touch. The bright embroidered suzani footstool, handmade in Los Angeles by Barrington Blue, adds a pop of color, touch of vibrancy, and special oomph. I love it — makes me so happy. Not only is this stool a great buy, but everything on the Barrington Blue website is gorgeous and a must have.

A foot stool. A PINK foot stool.
New season (it is Spring, right? NOT in NYC…) so new lounge pants from Josie! These Josie Hollywood Boho pants (now sold out) are perfection; the right combination of slinky and luxurious, cozy and bohemian. The vibrant print is an ultra-soft woven with colorblock detail, and the drawstring waist is easy to wear. These pants are the right choice to slip on to when lounging around the house, whether it is daytime or nighttime.

How cool and boho does the Josie model look in the whole ensemble?
I am craving the nights where I don’t have to wear slippers, sweatpants, long tees, sweatshirts, and robes to bed! I am so sick of this Winter, specifically the cold! And hopefully soon, I can wear just a sleepshirt to bed, and be warm enough. SOON knock on wood. I am super excited about wearing the Josie Spicy Essentials Sleepshirt — and it is exactly that — spicy AND essential.

Spicy! Bright!
Ironic, right? We are in a massive Polar Vortex Part 2 in NYC, and I am writing about summer shoes??? BUT…..Espadrilles are my new jam –especially when they are colorful, playful, fun and different. Which makes the We Are Handsome x Soludos the perfect shoe! (And yes, I realize that in most places in the country it IS still winter, and will be for quite some time, but hey, SPRING BREAK is around the corner!)

Beachy!
I love when designers collaborate with retailers to create special capsule collections, so when I found out that two of my favorite stores were working together to create a rad summer line, I ran IN THE RAIN to check it out. (Yep, used the word ‘rad.’) And hallelujah, it was worth it, because what I found was soooo beyond rad.

Suno, a funky, artsy, print and pattern centric clothing line created by Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty in 2008, teamed up with Uniqlo to create an inexpensive, colorful, and cool collection from May 20th (I am late) until the end of August. Pretty, floral, different, and affordable.

Birds eye view of top and pant….these pictures aren’t as fun to take un-pregnant.

Spearmint o fun!

The look.
Thanks to a friend, I was recently introduced to the amazingly chic baby quilts made by Haptic Lab, a Brooklyn based company (of course, everything cool is either from Sweden, Paris, or Brooklyn… or Eugene, Oregon).
Haptic Lab, founded in 2009 by architect and designer Emily Fischer, creates original, striking, and beautiful soft-map quilts. The Baby Soft-Maps are custom printed, hand-knotted, and 100% natural cotton. These quilts depict the map of a city or town of importance, whether it is a birthplace or a place with some other significance. They make incredible keepsake gifts for newborns, play mats for toddlers, and are just the perfect pop of color on your child’s bedroom chair. They can also be displayed as wall hangings. VERSATILE PRESENT, HOLLA!

The baby quilts measure 42″ x 36″ and are available in three colorways (pink map, orange backing; navy map, green backing; green map, blue backing). Soft cotton loops are stitched to the binding of the quilt so it can be used as a wall-hanging. And you can personalize the quilt with the child’s name, birthdate, and up to three different locations.
