Thanks to Instagram, I tend to find random and small lines of clothing that I fall madly in love with. The most recent discovery is a pair of shorts from Kas Maria. She has no website, no email, I just DM’d her saying I loved the shorts and voila, transaction. Kassandra (Kas Maria) sews her own designs and I love everything about them. These vibrant, colorful, ever so joyful bright floral shorts made me smile the minute I saw them on Instagram and I love them even more in person.
Patchwork floral shorts — a different fabric on each side of the shorts. Drawstring and high waisted. Comfortable and oh so cute.
One of my favorite clothing lines is Warm. Not only is it my favorite store in NYC (it carries all different lines not just Warm) but I am also friends with the designer, Winnie, who I love, respect, and adore. Everything Winnie does is GOLD and her style is impeccable. When she launched a collaboration with Madewell, I knew that I would love everything. Sure enough, I do. But especially the high rise denim shorts. LOVE oh love! They are so comfortable and the perfect fit. It comes with a belt that you can tie, but I prefer it without…. If you are looking to support small businesses, smart people, and a good look, then these are the shorts for you!
Shorts. Perfect color and fit.
Every other month, I clean out my closet and purge clothes that I no longer wear. Two weeks ago, in this manic cleaning session, I discovered a pair of white Isabel Marant shorts that I had purchased over three years ago but never wore. Immediately, I knew what I wanted to do with them — have them tie dyed and trnsform them from boring and dull to wild and fun. I emailed Kalen from Upstate and dropped them off at her studio the very next day…..three days later, she was finished with them and I could not love them anymore. They are tie dye perfection.
Cute, but not very practical for me….
Summer uniform: elastic wear shorts! More precisely, Josie Patch Isles Shorts. Soft woven… drawstring… the fabric is extremely soft, comfortable to slip on, and light for summer days and nights.
I am always on the lookout for new workout gear as I spend a large portion of my existence schlepping around / working out / thinking about running. Bandier has mastered most of my workout closet, but I was still searching for the perfect short (vs legging). I have found that many things are wrong with workout shorts: too short, too tight, cotton inside (vs mesh), not flattering, generic, the list goes on and on. Until I came across Tracksmith. And now I am in love. They are expensive ($60) but worth every single cent. Seriously, they are the perfect short.
