One of my absolute favorite gifts ever was this personalized monogrammed lipstick set from La Bouche Rouge. I absolutely love everything about it — the uniqueness, the leather cases, and the lipsticks themselves.

As I mentioned in Monday’s post about the Domino article, my favorite room in our apartment is actually our laundry room. Why? Because it is whimsical, unexpected, different, and light. It is definitely not your typical laundry room — and I always love marching to my own beat. At first, it was intended to be the way we enter the apartment (there is a backdoor entrance from the service elevator), but we continue to enter from the main door, and are totally fine with it.
I have been a big fan of Roberta Roller Rabbit since my son was born seven years ago. The kids and I love the prints, the softness, and the ease of the pajamas. Additionally, all our master bedroom bedding is from RRR as well. I had the opportunity to interview Roberta Freymann, Founder and President of the company, along with her team at Roberta Roller Rabbit, so please read on for more on the company!
There is only one person I really trust to give me make up advice, and that is Oscar Caballero. I first met him 4 years ago at Barney’s in the makeup department where he works for Natura Bisse. He also works independently as a make-up artist. From day one, there was just an instant feeling of comfort and trust, and I went to him for advice on skincare and makeup. Since then, he has done my makeup countless times, as well as my mother-in-law’s. He is also a friend. Enjoy this interview… ladies… here are some great tips from an expert!
Recently, I was gifted a big coloring poster. YUP, for the family to color on. Apparently, the new it thing is for adults to color to release stress, calm the mind, and channel a worry-free life. SOOOOOOO…..it happened.
Hola, amigos! The kids and I had a great time with my parents in Mexico (Bucerias, outside of Puerto Vallarta) last week, and are now on part deux of vacation with my beloved husband and his parents in Puerto Rico. One spanish speaking place to the next, (but Pacific Ocean to Atlantic Ocean)! As I am still on vacation mode (= no downtime away from kids, and when kids are in bed, I collapse), instead of a full post, here are 5 photos that give you a good feel of Mexico. Enjoy the brightness, color, and look!
I have a love-hate relationship with Legos. I love that they entertain my son and daughter for hours and simultaneously increase creativity, problem solving, and imagination. But…..I hate the clutter, the tiny pieces, the fact that they are everywhere everywhere in our little home. So last month, I decided to tackle a huge project and *organize* our lego problem. After three trips to The Container Store, hours of sorting, trial and error work, a massive headache, and pulling out my hair, I finally came up with a system! A system that works and is effective. I won the lottery; worth the stress!
As the Josie Girl, I am so excited to about the recent launch of Josie Bedding! Natori has done its own bedding for the past several years, but now it is Josie‘s turn to shine. And it is sooooo coooool and soooooo fun! Boho! Bold! Bright! Color! Comfort! Divine!
In my (small) world, toys > space, so I therefore the need more baskets and organization. My newest set of toy organizers (hiders) are two large straw baskets with multicolored pom poms from Eliza Gran. And how I love them! Unique, colorful, and playful.
Why, hello, AWESOME JOSIE JEWELRY! Where have you been all my life???
Probably the best 80 dollars (times 2, so 160 total) I have spent recently were on these handmade Indian coverlets for twin beds. Thanks to Etsy and Rajasthan Royals, we now are proud owners of two vibrant, colorful, 100% cotton covers for two twin beds.
Rajasthan Royals creates by hand these beautiful and unique masterpieces. They have a large assortment of beautiful quilts to choose from, or you can even custom ordert. There are quilts, baby quilts, different size bedding, and pillow shams — all are traditional Indian and gorgeous.
Girls, what is a better way to start fresh in the Spring weather than with some new undies? New undies are the freshest (and cleanest) way to start a new season! Especially when they are colorful, comfortable, and stylish. So toss out your old, tattered granny panties, and bring in some new Josie panties! Thank you, Josie Hippi for being the best undies out there.
Josie Hippies come in three different styles; Rio, Cotton, and Cotton polka dot! All are a must and a staple for your new Spring start. Rio is a fun alternative to the cotton hippi: a fun, flirty print which you can mix and match with your favorite Josie bra. 95% cotton, 5% lycra spandex, they are extremely comfortable, seamless, and mindless — you barely know that you have anything on!
True story: This hippie dippie chick loves her nails painted. I know, SO not what you would expect, but I can’t help it! I just need my nails painted — red, magenta, burgundy, orange, whatever color it is, I LOVE it. One of my splurges and girlie habits. So, when I recently came across Tom Ford and his beauty collection, I went nuts. Not only are his beauty products to die for (a whole separate blog post coming), but his nail polish is unbelievable.
Seriously, unbelievable. I love the colors, the look, and its lasting effect. My usual lifespan for nail polish before the first chip is 24 hours. Even with a busy week of cooking (lentil balls — post on Friday), building (rocket ships for the little boy), and packing (spring break), one week later, my nails are practically chip-free!
So even though it has a hefty price tag ($30), it is worth it. Promise. It is a perfect pick-me-up present for yourself or a friend (what is better than getting a nail polish delivered to you on a bad day?).
An uber easy recipe for a colorful and delicious dessert/snack/pick-me-up. Pretzel kisses with m&ms!
Ingredients:
* a package of (salted) pretzels
* a package of kisses (or hugs)
* M&Ms of any sort (original, peanut, peanut butter, or even pretzel)
