Currently Loving End of Summer 2019

Here we are, another season has flown by, and now onto the new same old (a la Alanis, isn’t it ironic?). Tomorrow, we go in to our same old routine but now, a summer under our wings with new experiences and thoughts….so, that said, here is what I am currently loving.

1. Lizzo Tiny Desk Concert

All summer, I was obsessed with Lizzo. I listened to all her songs, read her interviews, and fell madly in love with her. So now, I can’t wait to see her in September at Radio City Hall. She is one flipping incredible musician and loving and personable person — I want to meet her and become friends with her. You need to listen to her interview on Fresh Air and watch the Tiny Desk Concert linked above. Wildly talented.

2. Tal Ben-Shahar on Dax Shepard

Inspirational and insightful.

I sat still this entire podcast listening to every word Tal Ben-Shahar spoke. Tal is a professor and author in the areas of positive psychology, organizational psychology and leadership. The conversation between Tal and Dax is candid, relatable, insightful, and oh so powerful. A must listen to.

3. Euphoria

Disturbing and raw.

If you talked to me in August, sure enough, I am sure you heard me mention “Euphoria” as I couldn’t get it out of my mind…..An HBO series that I had a series love hate relationship with, Euphoria is about high schoolers and their world. So disturbing but powerful, beautiful and very well done.

4. VACATION! Traveling! Adventures!

The perfect last vacation before we headed back to the city…Montana. Pure bliss and happiness.

We had so many great trips this summer: Paris, Cap Ferrat, Oregon, Sonoma, Lake Tahoe, Montana. Each one was incredible and I am already on the search for my vacations for summer 2020….So far on my list: Turkey, Italy, anywhere tropical and exotic and different.

5. Don Julio 1942 Tequila

For those who know me, I basically only drink tequila. I mean, I drink la croix and room temperature water, too. But literally, I think I only like to drink those three things. And when I drink tequila, I only like to put lime juice in it. That’s it. So because I am so low maintenance (wink emoji), I like special tequila. My favorite every day tequila is Casa Dragones and my favorite special (read: expensive) tequila is Don Julio 1942. It is so good. SO good. SO SMOOTH YOU BARELY TASTE THE TEQUILA IT JUST TASTES LIKE PURE HEAVEN.

So that is what I am currently loving. Back to school, TOMORROW! And back to normal programming with this blog — sorry for the gaps here and there this summer!  It was busy (and oh so great).

  1. Euphoria is so good, and somehow so unsettling all at the same time. 10/10 would recommend.
