Unbelievable tragedy leads to a pretty uplifting interaction. Not sure how else to describe the below story. This post requires watching two short videos (and definitely shedding some tears), but I can promise it’s worth your time. Promise.
In November, Ken and I got word of one of the most unspeakable tragedies you could imagine. Connie Kin, the wife of one of Ken’s business school classmates, passed away due to complications from childbirth, leaving behind her husband Andrew, three-year-old son Nathan, and newborn baby Ella. The situation that Andrew and family has dealt with and the grace and courage with which they’ve confronted their new life has been nothing short of inspiring. I can’t imagine what he is going through. You can see the beautiful website built in Connie’s memory here.
Connie’s spirit is captured in the below video. She helped create this Gangnam Style parody video for a You Tube channel she co-created called WhatsUpMoms. (One of the other co-creators is Elle from WhatsUpElle, who is also the wife of another one of Ken’s business school classmates). This video is hysterical, but watching it is obviously incredibly sad.
Now for the uplifting part of the story. Psy (the Gangnam Style guy) got word of the below video and tragedy. And then this happened.
Kudos to Psy for creating a moment of happiness out of tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Kin family. You can read more about Connie here: https://www.inmemoryofconnie.com
Hug your Valentine. And please feel free to share.
wow.. so sad and an amazing story. thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks for watching the videos.
This beautiful family, the life events that have separated them, remind me to take nothing for granted. Everything is a gift, a blessing, to enjoy and live in the moment because the next moment is not guaranteed. I love my dear family, we all have flaws and laugh through them as we try to be the best we can. I am at a loss for words for this family other than recognizing the importance of friends and family to help them cope. So sorry. Maryliz
