It’s hard to believe the blog is a year old! It all started with this post. A year later, I am amazed at how much fun (and time consuming) this has been. Of course, a blog is nothing without its readers, and I thank all of you for taking the time to check in. Means so much to me. Thank you!
To celebrate our year anniversary, we are going to do a week of giveaways of some of my favorite things!
Today’s giveaway: 12 of my FAVORITE cookies in the world from Levain Bakery. (Yes, they deliver around the country.) The official rules are here, but basically, you can enter by joining our email list, which you can do by putting your email address in that red box on the top of the right sidebar. Good luck! If you haven’t had Levain cookies yet, you are missing out on one of the best things in the world!
To celebrate the blog’s first birthday, below are my favorite posts over the past year. Of course, in the form of a top 10, because as you know, I love lists almost as much as I love my children. DRUM ROLL…..
Flywheel – My favorite spin class by far. Now a regular part of my weekly workout routine.
Fashion Star – A recap of the first episode of the TV fashion competition. Thanks to Macy’s and Saks for mentioning the post on their Facebook feeds! The most read and commented post of the year.
Tips for Pregnant Women – Pregnant? Read this! Bonus: Ken’s Tips for Husbands of Pregnant Women.
Envelope Opening – One of our most emotional nights of the year. Or ever.
Welcome ZEN – ditto, squared!
Josie Natori Spring 2013 Fashion Show – Had so much fun at the event, love the clothes, and can’t wait until they go into production (and my closet).
Girl’s Hairbows – that’s my girl.
Strata – double yum
Tonique – One of my favorite workout classes. And Sylwia is amazing,
Levain Cookies – Best. Cookies. Ever.
So there you have it. My top 10 posts of the past year. Thank you for reading, commenting, and being a part of this journey. It has not been easy to balance being a mother, teacher, blogger, wife, and friend, but I have truly enjoyed my experience of writing and sharing random bits of pieces of my life and thoughts with each of you. Thank you for letting me indulge in this practice and being a part of this over the past year. I am looking forward to continuing this incredibly satisfying challenge and sharing it with you for another year!
Oh, and join our mailing list (top of the right sidebar) for the chance to win Levain cookies, and check in later this week for more giveaways!
Congratulations on a year! Love the blog.. Keep going!

Happy Anniversary Ms. Josie Girl (Anika.) So enjoying the Blog, please keep up the wonderful work. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your life, thoughts and some very excellent ideas with all of us. Wishing you only the best always. Sue B
Thank you so much, Sue. Means a lot to hear this from someone. I really appreciate you taking the time to write that. Hope you continue to read!
CONGRATULATIONS! I love your blog. Thank you for sharing your fun, smart and refreshing views. No matter how busy I could be in a day, I always read it (which I cannot say of any other blogs!).
Keep up the fantastic work.
Xoxo,
Connie
Hearing this from you, Connie is such a treat! Thank you! xo
Congratulations AYN! I first learned of your blog from one of my best girlfriends who wanted to make a recipe you posted (saltine cookies FTW!) for our holiday baking day, and I’ve been hooked ever since! Another one of my closest girlfriends is a mom of 4 and she also keeps a blog and I know how much of a labor of love it is, so thank you for keeping it real and letting us peek into your world 3x a week. We Seattlites love to see how our fellow PNW-er flourishes in NYC!
Love from the Emerald City,
Lisa
Congratulations and thank you for keeping a blog this year. I love reading about the best NYC cookies, how to make delicious dairy-free desserts, seeing your adorable kids and family, learning about cute clothes and reading yours lists of 10. Josie Girl makes every day more fun…just like you do.
