Good Eggs is the local and homegrown version of Fresh Direct. Founded in San Francisco by two tech entrepreneurs, this company’s mission is to grow and sustain local food. Currently in just a few cities (San Francisco, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and New Orleans), Good Eggs connects people to food by giving you information and history on the producers. It is a modern day farmer’s market that delivers (or you can opt to pick it up).

How it works

mission statement
The website is extremely well done — easy to navigate, with beautiful images, and lots of information.

Tabs to scroll through and choose what you want to buy
As a self acclaimed grocery store snob, this place scores an A+. I would love to buy everything that they sell — the greens, the breads, the meats, the fish, the granola, the cookies, EVERYTHING. It is a butcher, a baker, and candle stick maker in one place! You just simply have to go to your computer, order and your local groceries go straight to you!! (and if you live in Manhattan as opposed to Brooklyn like we do, then you have to pick it up….#firstworldproblems).

How you view the products. It shows both the item, the seller, and information on the products.

The bag. goodeggs.com

My number of bags (1 of 1). Very well organized, efficient, and easy to pick up — for those who need to pick up.

Clear mission statement. Love a company with a sound, strong, and well thought out mission. And one that fulfills their mission, too!

eating and enjoyment

One of my purchases. White moustache yogurt. UNBELIEVABLE. Rich, creamy, unique, tasty, and locally made. Small batch, old world. (Clear eyes, full hearts!)

Home made Pop tarts = perfection.

YUM. I heart sugary hearts.

Was devoured in 2 seconds.

Information on the Pop Tart.
Your food is picked and prepped to order so the locally grown produce is ripe. Since you are ordering ahead, nothing sits around and everything comes like you want it to! Our greens were out of this world good, and the granola was to die for. I just hope that someday soon, they will be able to deliver to Manhattan (please oh please?) Check out Good Eggs if you live in NYC, LA, SF and NO. Have a great weekend!
Love the Friday Night Lights reference! I desperately miss it.
Love the concept. Come to Seattle!
Those pop tarts look amazing…what did you use for the frosting?
This sounds awesome. I wish places like these were easier to find in other states. 🙁
