Basket Weaving Class

My mom is an avid crafter — even more so than me — so last week, she told me that she had accidentally signed up for two different zoom workshops at the same time, and so could I take one of them. Since I love crafts and had nothing else to do, I jumped at the chance. Basket weaving. A 4 (yes 4!!!!) hour zoom class where they taught you how to weave a basket. They sent a box with all the supplies – the needle, scissors, everything. The box is from Flax and Twine and I cannot wait to purchase more of these kits.

The box came with all the material.

Look at all the pretty colors.

Making a basket was tough at the start — but then got easier. I, in no way, am good at it, and am still trying to figure out how to shape it and make it not odd shaped (have not yet figured that out), but I can’t wait to try more and figure it out.

This is the hard part.

But then I got better.

Finished product of basket #1.

Then on my own (without the class), I made another basket.

Still trying to figure out how to make it wider and flatter instead of a bowl.

Not yet mastered it — actually far from mastery — but loving it.

Check out Flax and Twine — so many cool different crafts and kits to choose from!
