With a blink of an eye, Ken and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary. Together, we have gone through a lot (fertility treatments, family dynamics, crazy New York, major home renovation, and all of the other normal life stuff), and through these ups and downs, we are constantly working together trying to try to become better people and a stronger couple. Ken is my favorite companion, and I love him up to the sky, down again, around the world and back again. I anticipate that there will continue to be other obstacles and challenges in our life, but I am also confident that we will work together as a team to get through anything in our way. To celebrate, here are some photos to walk down memory lane (and notice how young, thin, and carefree we once were! And how little we knew back then!)
BTS: the first and only time I have ever had curlers in my hair. Here is Olivier Echaudemaison, the creative director of Guerlain (and also a good friend of my mother in law’s) who came from Paris for the wedding and was kind enough to do my make-up.
I kinda love my lion look here.
My shoes. And yep, my mother in law and I went on a Paris shopping trip just to find the perfect shoes, and they were true perfection.
I love this behind the scene shot of me getting dressed with my bridesmaids. Toasting to the celebration!
Hi hot stuff! I am happy to say that I am still close with all of my bridesmaids and love them dearly — here is Auntie Midge and Auntie Em, two friends from college who are still biffles.
My dress was made by my mother in law, and although stressful, it turned out to be the most beautiful and perfect dress. I still love it oh so much and would wear it again (but doubt I would fit into it #MiddleAged).
Our ceremony and reception was done by the brilliant David Monn, which meant that everything was crazy over the top beautiful. So my flower arrangements were just simple, as there was so much going on everywhere else.
The church was insanely beautiful.
Ken and his dad! Handsome fellas.
My mom and brother.
The bridesmaids all got ready at The Pierre hotel. When we were waiting to go to the church, all the tourists walking by were in shock at the 10 BRIDES and all of our white gowns!
This is my favorite photo. I originally wanted both my parents to walk me down the aisle, as they have both been such important forces in my life, but my mother in law suggested that it would block the view of my dress. So I happily obliged.
The ceremony and all the brides(maids).
My hubba hubba husband.
Hello NYC shot in the middle of the stret!
We danced till 3 am in the morning!
Mother of the Groom, and the beauty of the wedding.
Toasts (and look at my earrings borrowed from my mother in law! In my dreams I will wear those….to pick up?)
My students were our ushers. One of my favorite personal touches of our wedding.
