Gjelina NY

My absolute favorite restaurant in the United States is now in NYC! Gjelina is an LA based restaurant and by far the best dining experience I have ever encountered — scrumptious food, great service, easy and laid back vibe — all perfection. When I read that it opened up in NYC for breakfast and lunch two weeks ago, I knew that I needed to go. And sure enough, I went not once but twice this past weekend. It is SOOOOOO good. Everything. The date cake is my absolute favorite, and not yet on the NY menu, but I still love it regardless.

Photo taken by the NYTimes. It is a two story restaurant, with a waiting room in the front, as no reservations are accepted.

Located downtown at 45 Bond Street, it currently does not serve dinner, but is a great place for breakfast or lunch.

This salad is unbelievable — I ordered it both times I went.

Cabbage — on a current cabbage kick and this one was unbelievable.

Turkey sandwich seems boring — but this was far from boring.

Dessert at noon? Yes please!

Not the most kid friendly menu, but I am always trying to expose the kids to different types of food. They both ate the greek yogurt and the bacon.

Pancakes for the table — best ever. Buckwheat lemon ricotta.

Highly highly recommend. I can’t wait to go back and try different and new things. Literally everything on the menu looks unbelievably delicious.
