I have been a fan of Mah-Ze-Dhar bakery since I was introduced by a friend in 2013. A lot has changed since then, including a new brick-and-mortar store downtown in NYC and one in DC, as well as some new delicious baked good products. Recently, I received their newsletter and was intrigued by their chocolate chip cookie dough — you freeze this huge log of dough that is over 24 cookies, and then bake them as you need. I instantly bought it because I looooove chocolate chip cookies. I froze it for a rainy day (or in this case, a grey and slow Sunday) and then wam bam thank you ma’am, cut, baked, and voila! So easy, and so delicious!
Yes, I realize that I can make my own cookie dough, but I love supporting female founding companies, and love trying out different recipes, so, thank you Mah-Ze-Dahr! I highly recommend — and if you aren’t in the mood for cookies, I am still a huge fan of their Heavenly Lemon Cheesecake as well as their granola — top favorite sweets of all time! Happy Monday!
Not always loving all this sprinkle with salt nonsense…caramel was just fine ..without salt…last week brought what was called “big fat ass cookie”, at a local patisserie …bleeech….first few bite were exactly the opposit of what i wanted in a cookie…it was downright salty…excessively so…then it had an annoying gritty crunch at first i thought frosted flake topping? these figured it had oatmeal …
sorry but what happened to just a damn good cookie, with quality chocolate..perhaps some nuts….the week before i brought their 24 karat brownie….same thing, its like they threw everything but the kitchen sink into it …nuts, crunchies, dark & gold raisins , oatmeal, some oats…its just a big mess.
Sometimes we desire the simple incarnation with quality ingredient!
As for chocolate chip cookies in NY —Levain cookies!
