Now that it is officially cold (FML) in NYC, I am craving warm, hot, filling, comfort food. So what could be better than apple steel cut oatmeal made in the slow cooker? The perfect go-to breakfast to keep you warm and satisfied.

Apples!
Ingredients:
- 3 apples (cored, peeled, diced)
- 1½ cups almond milk
- 1½ cups water
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
Directions:
* Very important: First spray the inside of your slow cooker with cooking oil spray.

Chop the peeled apples (the most time consuming part of the recipe)

Slow cooker. Add the apples.

Then the steel cut oatmeal

Then add all the ingredients, milk, water, spices, and melange.

Set the slow cooker to low for 6 hours

Almost ready to devour

In a container to store in the fridge
It is the perfect rich, hearty, sugarless, and delicious morning meal. Enjoy! And have a great weekend!
