As mentioned earlier this week, last week I was in the Bay Area stuffing my face with the most delicious food, ingredients, and meals. And one of my FAVORITE things (I have yet to mention) was the breakfast — Axe Pancakes.

Currently only available in California (you can get them on Good Eggs in Bay Area, and in various stores in Southern California). You buy this big tub of pancake mix that is frozen and store it in the freezer until the night before you want to use it.

Multigrain Pancake Batter. I already sent Axe an email begging and pleading with them to send it to me to Oregon or NYC. I am not sure I can live without these pancakes — they are literally my dream come true.

Directions

Such an interesting story about how the pancake mix came to be. Axe used to be a restaurant in Venice, CA, and they were most famous for their pancakes. So when the restaurant closed, they just started selling the pancake. batter. Genius!

Cute picture from their website that I wanted to share.

Not necessarily pretty but oh so delicious.

I ate them with peanut butter (because I eat everything with peanut butter) and coulis and jam (also can’t live without jam).

More traditional with butter and maple syrup.
Highly highly recommend. So easy to make, so delicious to eat, and HEALTHY for you. It is a win win situation!
