I have been in Cap Ferret (south west region of France) for the past two weeks and I have fallen in love. This place is unlike anywhere else I have been and I love every bit of it. Here are just some of the things that I love about it here.
1. Parasailing

SUCH a fun afternoon — we thought it was just going to be up and down, but it was a whole boat ride excursion and one of the highlights of the trip so far. The kids went up (I did not), and there were two other French families on the boat so it was fun to talk with them.
2. Ice cubes in Wine

Learned from the French that you put ice cubes in your wine to make it fresher and colder and help you hydrate. I am truly a convert now.
3. Kinder Bueno

Every time we go to the grocery store (every other day) we end up buying more of these. So delicious.

Hands down one of the best mussels I have ever ever been served. This restaurant in general was incredible — if you are in the area, you must eat there (and order the mussels).
5. Rummikub

We have spent a lot of hours playing rummikub. I love it. Can’t stop.
6. Crochet Shorts from Monoprix

In Paris, I purchased these crochet shorts from the kids department at their Monoprix — which is half grocery store, half department store. They were super cheat and I love them and have worn them repeatedly on the trip.
7. Biking

One of the things I love most about our stay in Cap Ferret is that you bike everywhere. We bike to the market every single morning, to ice cream, on a bike ride, to the bank, anywhere and everywhere. The whole community bikes — LOVE IT.
8. Oysters

The town is famous for its its oysters and there are shacks on the water for oysters. Nothing beats fresh oysters.
9. The beach

The waves at the beach are so fun to go boogie boarding and body surfing, or just stand in the ocean. We have spent hours every single day at the beach.
10. The sunset

Every night we walk to see the sunset and its been a highlight — it happens at 10 pm and nothing beats seeing the sun go down over the ocean.
