The minute my mother-in-law walks in the door, people stare at her. She carries herself regally, impeccably dressed, and is constantly glamorous and beautiful. In the 12 years (!) that I have known her, I have constantly been in awe of her beauty, grace, and class. So, I decided to ask her questions on how she takes care of herself (with the unrealistic hopes that it would give me the tools and hints on how to be as beautiful as she is). Take a look at her answers!
What’s your daily makeup routine?
I never leave the house without lipstick, either a red or a taupe brown color… I always like a bright red no matter day or night. I prefer Guerlain or Cle de Peau lipsticks. I also use powder (YSL), Bronzer (Guerlain), eyeshadow (Tom Ford, Guerlain, Chanel), eyeliner (Chanel), and mascara (Chanel). Chanel can do no wrong!
What’s your daily skincare routine?
I swear by Obagi-C products and use the Cleanser everday, the serum and the moisturizer. At night, I use cle de peau night cream.
How do you style and care for your hair?
I do my makeup and my hair in 5 minutes. I blow dry quickly and am out the door!
What’s your biggest beauty splurge?
Succumbing to some night creams…love the cle de peau, a true luxury!
Do you have any other non-beauty rituals that help you feel great?
Taking a nightly bath makes me feel good before sleeping… I love bubble baths and use all kinds..
What’s your bedtime routine?
No bedtime routine..I fall right to sleep!
Do you have a signature scent?
Over the years …no one product stands out except using my Natori scents.
Last but certainly not least: Do you have an overall beauty philosophy?
I always like to feel fresh, so applying powder and lipstick from time to time is key. I honestly don’t abide by any beauty rules. I do what works for me and what is easy! I have no patience for extra stuff. I don’t regret anything including sunbathing too much even though I know it’s not good for your skin. Sometimes the sun is worth it!
Thank you, Mom! I have a lot of beauty tricks to learn from you, so thanks for sharing!
Beautiful! I love that she only spends 5 minutes on her hair and make-up.. impressive.
