On Monday, I had the privilege of attending the CFDA Fashion Awards. Although I am not a designer, celebrity, socialite, or someone that anyone cares about seeing, it was fun to get dressed up and attend. The CFDA Awards is basically the Oscars for the Fashion World. My mother in law, Josie Natori, has been a member for forever, but due to her travel schedule, Ken and I went instead. It was a fun evening with great people watching, flowing champagne, and an opportunity to get all dolled up.
My favorite celebrity sightings of the night were Heidi Klum (striking! Amazing) and Gigi Hadid (beautiful — resembles my daughter!)
Of course, I do everything last minute, so I didn’t have a dress until noon that day — but luckily, my mother in law IS a designer, has a lot of dresses, and most of the dresses were available in my size.
Thank you, Natori! For coordinating all the dresses the day of, and making this possible for me! Truly appreciate all the scrounging and coming together to help me out so last minute.
My choice — IĀ love it, and it felt the most me of all the dresses.
The dress is flowy, comfortable, and beautiful with the hand embroidered floral designs on it.
Incredible craftsmanship and detail.
Getting ready is no easy task — I am not sure how celebrities do this on a regular basis! I was exhausted by all the sitting for all the grooming and extra prep. It takes time and money to be beautiful š
I never like leaving the kids before they go to sleep….my son kept on asking me why I had eyeshadow on, and commented that “Lola wears those fancy heels, why are you wearing those heels instead of your running shoes?” #Truth
Funny faces.
Our own red carpet shot.
En route in the car, smokey eye and all.
The ceremony didn’t start until 9 pm (!) but there was a lot of drinking and socializing before. Surrounded by drunk people. Actually at each table, there was a bottle of tequila and shot glasses, encouraging people to drink up! Funny…
Party!
All in all, a super fun night, and great to be included in a wonderful event. To buy my Josie Natori dress, go here.
A handsome couple! Cheers (non-alcoholic)!
Looking fab!
Such a lovely choice. You look incredible, Anika! Ken definitely looks like the Ken to your Barbie! Picture perfect!
