My favorite day of the year in NYC — and this one did not disappoint — The NYC Marathon. Actually, New York showed off in any way and it was truly a magical day. I did not run — but cheered for 5 hours — and it was absolutely glorious.

My preparation for the marathon started on Saturday by watching Kipchoge’s documentary — he is my absolute favorite runner (and maybe even athlete, close to Nadal) and this documentary is so inspirational and incredible.

I then made my sign super early.

Prepped a fruit plate for later.

Went on a run and saw fun signs along the way.

HA. I love cheering, but I also love running the NYC marathon. Maybe next year.

Then me and the girls made many more signs.

Us with our signs.

We got to mile 25.2 before the wheelchairs even came by — then the professional women and men, and then the civilians. 5 hours! It was so incredible.

We screamed at everyone and it was absolutely incredible. This was one of the best moments of the day. They were screaming people’s names (written on their shits) and this guy had Matt written on it, so we were yelling MATT and he came over and gave them a big hug. Turned out he was Matt the Bachelor from TVB.

We clapped and screamed so hard that I lost my voice and bruised my finger.

We went home to eat some bagels, fruit plate, and then went back to cheer on the slower runners. The park was packed.

We also made another sign for their old science teacher.

Saw this one that made me smile.

And absolutely loved this photo so had to share.
Best day ever in the city. If you can run it, do it. If you can cheer it, do it. If you can spectate for a minute, worth every minute.
