So basically, my August loves are the same as July’s loves. I mean, same same different. Same type of thing, but different at same time. But in the spirit of sharing (over sharing sometimes, too!), here are my loves for August.
1. Fresh Peaches
The problem is trying to figure out what to do with all the peaches. We had a bake off and had three different types of desserts with peaches — so delicious.
Nothing beats fresh peaches — these were so delicious that when we picked them, we ate a lot as well.
2. Vietnamese Rolls
Fresh Vietnamese homemade rolls? YES PLEASE.
As good and fresh and healthy as you think!
3. Twin Peaks Hike
This was a 7 mile hike filled of incredible views and nature — just wish there were not 5 million mosquitos because DAMN they got me good.
Look at this photo my dad took — it looks like an eagle, but is apparently a butterfly. But the views were incredible.
4. Erewhon Snacks
Love these so much — wish you could get them nationwide.
And these are even better.
5. Hayward Field
The start of August hosted the National Outdoor Championships – it was so fun to watch, in person and on national television.
A 6 minute bike ride from our house, we always like to bike to Hayward…Easy, fast, and exercise. WIN WIN WIN.
6. Oregon Coast
Yes I realize that last month, I also featured the Oregon Coast — but it is such a special and unique place that I have to mention it again. It is not like any other beach — it is half forest, half sand, always empty — pure magic.
We do this photo shoot every year (with our own phones) because it is so much fun to jump on the dunes.
7. Rivers
Eugene has two rivers and lots of creeks, so there is always fun to have on some type of body of water. This rope swing captivated us this past week and we went there frequently just to swing.
The dog also loves the river — who doesn’t?
