TriBeCa Galleries

Earlier this week, with a group of friends, I went to look at some art in the TriBeCa galleries — LOVE LOVE LOVED it. Not just the art in the galleries but the galleries themselves. I highly recommend touring these three galleries (we actually went to 7!) if given the time at any point if and when in NYC.

Jack Shaiman Gallery

Currently at the Gallery, is Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. I found her work breathtaking, especially in the Tribeca space.

A very cool space. Huge, tall ceilings. Beautiful old moldings. Felt like an old bank.

Loved this pair.

Charcol. Unbelievable.

Face and hands.

Marian Goodman Gallery

At this gallery, it was a very different abstract type of work from Julie Mehretu. The frames itself were art (they have to be purchased together) and the light behind the art was the best part.

colors galore.

This was my favorite. It was a HUGE piece of work.

James Cohan Gallery

Fred Tomaselli’s work felt like mosaics with all its layers and hidden secrets in it. I found it happy, unique, and beautiful.

Bird.

Gorgeousness.

Up close.

Loved this one.

So if you have time, definitely go check out these galleries in TriBeCa! There are so many galleries in Chelsea to visit (which I did last week), but also in TriBeCa — totally different feel and vibe.
