Apparently all I do is eat, but when in Los Angeles last week, every activity was planned around where we would eat. My (extremely cute) 90 year old uncle is so adventureous and doesn’t just sit at home — quite the contrary, he is out and about all the time, in touch with the best restaurants and exhibitions, etc….So he suggested going to the ONLY MEXICAN RESTAURANT with a MICHELIN STAR (Holbox) which was right next to the California Science Center — and we jumped on both. We LOVE science museums (interactive, fun, interesting) and we love Mexican food — so win win win!

First of all, this cliche view never gets old. But I loved it on this particular night because you could see a sliver of the moon — nothing makes me happier than pretty skies.
CALIFORNIA SCIENCE CENTER

OK, the Science Center! It is located RIGHT next to the USC stadium along a row of other museums. The museum is gigantic — we could have stayed there all day. Plus, I loved it because it was free admissions (cost 20 dollars to park) and there was a mixture of ages and people.

We explored the museum for a good 2 hours. We got there right when it opened and left for our lunch.

We loved this section of the aquarium.

And how cute are my 90 year old uncle and his 80 year old girlfriend???
HOLBOX

This restaurant has a LINE! Apparently at any given time, no matter the day, there is a line. You order at the counter and then sit. It serves only seafood, no booze, and the most delicious Mexican food I have ever had. I got this tartar and it was unbelievable.

Cruzzie’s fish tacos — I had one and they were too die for.

My uncle always orders this sea bass — also delicious.

The guacamole (and especially the chips) were some of the best I have ever had.

Another view. For size — it was gigantic.
Highly recommend both – and since they are right near each other, you can do both and they make for a great day!
