Nothing made me hungrier than seeing the models on Wednesday at the Josie Natori Spring 2014 Fashion Show. (BTW, congrats to my mother-in-law – check out the great reviews on WWD and Style.com!) And specifically, hungry for the Oregon doughnut empire, Voodoo Doughnut!
Written up by many as one of the best doughnut places in the country, Voodoo was started in Portland, Oregon and now has three outposts, one in Eugene. Obvi. Considered a business that captures the kooky essence of Portland, Voodoo makes doughnuts that are unique and quirky, to say the least. (When it first opened, they sold doughnuts glazed with NyQuil and dusted with Pepto-Bismol — but that didn’t last long). Voodoo is the place for tourists and locals alike, as the unusual concoctions work magic. And they even sell vegan doughnuts – what else would you expect from an Oregon doughnut factory?
Earlier this month, my dear friends Bridget and Joe (and their baby, Olive) visited us in Eugene. And of course, we stopped in at Voodoo for some warm, gooey, sweet, fried dough.
So if you are in Portland or Eugene (and hopefully they will soon be expanding), check out Voodoo and see what all the buzz is about. Have a great weekend — it has been an insanely busy week and I can’t wait to catch up on sleep!
Nyquil? is that a joke? hysterical.
awful joke, but true.
Last picture is a little scary. But I enjoyed the post!
