SNL February 28th

I had the most incredible New York experience on Saturday and I want to share it all with you! Not to brag, not even to humble brag, but to share. I had the rare opportunity to attend Saturday Night Live. A friend has a connection and when I heard that Connor Storrie (star of Heated Rivalry) was hosting along with Mumford & Sons on that specific day, I asked if she could do me a favor and get tickets. As it was the most popular show of the season (!!!), she was only able to get two but as a dear friend, said that Cruzzie (who just flew in for his Spring Break) could take her spot, and the two of us could go. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. ABSOLUTELY incredible.

Cruzzie flew in at 6 pm, had dinner, rested, and we had to report to 30 Rock by 10 pm.

Security was insane. It was 10 times worse than an airport. You had to show your ID a million times, your tickets, your official letter, multiple times.

Wrist bands, too.

….and then we waited. We were in a room for a good 45 minutes. There were drinks for the 21+ year olds.

Our ticket. And it came in a special envelope, and we had to show the envelope multis times, too.

This was the holding room. Then, at 10:45, they called different groups to be taken to the taping. Once in the room, you could not take out your phone and no pictures were allowed. They were extremely strict (don’t worry, I didn’t even try — but I watched a million people try and get shot down very fast).

We are friends with Mikey Day — a cast member of SNL — and so AFTER the show, it was the best best best because he took us backstage, got photo opportunities, hung out in his dressing room, talked to fellow cast members.

We saw Hilary Knight (US Gold Medal hockey player — we got a picture with her, as seen here).

And the best best best was seeing and talking with Hudson Williams –the star of Heated Rivalry. He was incredible, so warm, gracious, appreciative. I LOVE HIM.

Another picture. HEART THROB.

We stood in line for the show next to Jamie Tartt of Ted Lasso. Star struck with him, too. And he is my size.

We made it home by 2 am — tired, happy, and oh so grateful for such a unique experience. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend if given the opportunity to go see a show, do it.
