Summers in Oregon usually are packed with lots of outdoor adventures (hiking, biking, running, exploring) as well as arts and crafts. And this year, it has been no different. Here are the arts and craft projects I have been working on this summer
Straw Tray
From straw, I braided 6 meters worth of straw together — harder than it seemed and caused my fingers to ache. But, worth the pain.
The rope.
Then, I sewed it together in a coil method and VOILA, a tray. I need to make more of them and learn how to make them bigger. Nonetheless, proud of this first attempt.
Dried Flower Chain
First, we dried straw flowers, then I poked holes in them and strung them together in an ombre color theme. Once again, it seems easier said than done. IT WAS NOT EASY. I also got crystals for the bottoms.
Two done!
Mural
We decided to continue the mural in a spot of the alley that didn’t have any paint.
Not done, but getting there.
Lavender Sachets
We picked lavender at the lavender festival and are now embroidering lavender on fabric and will sew it together and make sachets.
Weaving Coasters
THIS IS HARD but I am determined to get better at it. So far, I have learned two different techniques. A lot to learn and perfect, but this was my first coaster.
