Last summer, my mom got me interested in making baskets — it was a great creative outlet that was different than needlepointing (which I do all the time). I took a 9 month sabbatical from making baskets (I.e. the school year), but this summer, once again, I have found myself interested in making baskets. I LOVE IT. It is so fun, different, challenging, and you get a pretty basket at the end. The best place to get all the kits / equipment / videos is Flax and Twine — this online store is amazing and beautiful, and I love everything they sell. In the past two weeks, I have made two different baskets.

It is WAY more complicated than you think it is. And takes a lot of patience.

But then this is the result — which I love.

There is a lot of sorting and measuring and taping, but then you get to do the fun stuff like braiding!

I think I swore every other word and talked out loud a lot during this process.

Working….

Circling….

Measuring….
I loved this kit (38 dollars for it feels like a steal!) and want to order more of these to do.

Finished result!
Can never have too many baskets and bowls, right? I want to make all the different ones! So if you are in the need of a new hobby, activity, highly suggesting making bowls and baskets, and definitely check out Flax and Twine!
