Reuseable Straws

Many cities across the States have started to ban plastic straws. In a lot of places on the West Coast, restaurants and bars do not serve drinks with plastic stirs or straws, and soon we will see this happen across the East Coast as well.

In general, plastic straws are wasteful garbage. And therefore people are searching for alternatives. Paper straws get soggy and wet, metal straws distort the taste of the drink, and therefore silicone straws are becoming more and more popular.

Plastic straw alternative.

As we make a lot of smoothies, coffee drinks, and milkshakes, I decided to buy reusable straws to help reduce unnecessary waste. Recommended by a friend (via New York Magazine), I purchased Koffie Straws. Made from super soft silicone, the straws remain at room temperature no matter the temperature of the drink. The straws are also flexible and easy to carry around, and dishwasher safe.

Thin, flexible, non-toxic material.

And who doesn’t love drinking out of a neon pink straw?

But not just for coffee! For any liquid!

Although known to be best for coffee drinks, Koffie straws are great for anything that needs a straw. I am excited by our new addition to our kitchen and even though a super small contribution to the earth’s environment, I feel that it is a step in the right direction. Everything helps! To buy, go here.

Pliable. Bright. Cheerful. Practical. Good for environment..
