Spring Break 2017 Sunriver

We are now full swing back to reality with school, tutoring, responsibilities, etc…so it seems hard to think that we were just in Oregon a couple of days ago — it seems like an eternity. I already miss my parents, the fresh air, the fir trees, the crisp delicious water, and everything Oregon. Here are some pictures of our week skiing in Sunriver, Oregon. Enjoy!

Ken is the downhill teacher. He did an amazing job each day spending half the day with one kid, and then the other half with the other kid. They made huge improvements!

Ken and the green outfitted Cruzzie. I had no idea when I purchased his jacket and pants that his boots and skis were also green! Green Monster!

The snow in the PNW is great -- powder and fresh.

The dream.

It was Toosh's first time on skiis and she did great. She doesn't love skiing as much as Cruzzie (who spent every weekend in the North East on a hill / mountain skiing). But she made tremendous progress and soon it will be second nature....

Ken took some pretty impressive photos during our trip, this being one of them. Dramatic and beautiful -- both the natural setting and the person in it.

Although I grew up skiing both cross country AND downhill, my preferred type of skiing is for sure cross country. I love that it is exercise, in the nature, and peaceful. It is also something that I do with my parents that I really enjoy. This time around, my mom could not ski because of her broken arm, but I had great days with my dad. In this photo, it is a lodge that we skied to one day.

My dad in action -- this is actually one day when it snowed so much we had to blaze the trail and got lost -- his GPS made it even harder to get back on track, always an adventure with my Papa.

Lunch

I must say, I am a good sandwich maker.

Our lunch spot -- a trick I learned from my dad is to find a tree well so you can have your feet lower, and then you put your skis backwards so you have a dry spot for your tush to sit on.

My mother, although not quiet, is the person behind the scenes that makes everything happen. Without her, we would not have been able to go on cross country ski trips, have a clean house, and amazing home cooked meals every night. She is the most accomplished and talented lady, and I am forever proud and grateful to have her as my mother.

Thank you to my parents for a fun, relaxing, and wonderful week in Sunriver — we miss you already! Hope everyone is having a great week.
