Currently Loving February 2017

Here we are in the final stretch of February…a little odd because we are just in the middle of February, but because of the short month, it is near the end (#MathTeacher). Here is what I am currently loving this month.

1. Katy Perry ‘Chained to the Rhythm’

I first heard this song at the Grammy’s where she performed live with Skip Marley, and it instantly got stuck in my head. Now, we play it on repeat and everyone in the family dances along.

Katy Perry.

Katy Perry. What is not to love about this song? Everything about it — the lyrics, the beat, the tune, everything just makes me so happy and makes me want to dance, dance, dance to the distortion.

2. Lion

I have been on a good stretch of going to movies during the school day (yes, luxurious and amazing). And my good stretch is actually only two movies …. but that is more than I saw all last year. The most recent movie, Lion, is one of the best movies I have seen ever. I cried, sobbed, ached, and felt so many different feelings. This is a must watch, and in the theater. RUN RUN RUN.

Lion.

Lion. Not only is the plot, scenery, music, and acting all great, but Dev Patel is HUBBA HUBBA HOT.

3. New York Times Chocolate Chip Cookies

During the snow day 1.5 weeks ago, I made chocolate chips referred to by the New York Times as the best chocolate chip cookies ever. Sure enough, they were beyond delicious and everyone loved them. They were so good, that we gave them to Cruzzie’s teachers two different days because they thought they were so good. (Cruzzie has now asked me if we can bring cookies to his teachers every week #FutureBrownNoser)

The thing that sets these cookies apart from other recipes is that you need to refrigerate the dough for 36 hours (!!!) which is long when you see chocolate chips and all the goodness. But it is worth the wait.

4. Nine Ted Talks on the importance of Self Care

I am slowly, but surely, getting through these nine Ted Talks on the importance of self care. All of them are interesting, insightful, and a good listen. Better than watching ‘The Bachelor’ any day….

There is always room for improvement!

5. Doen Junpiper Top

I can’t wait for Spring — the weather this past weekend was sunny, warm(ish), and made everyone smile and celebrate Spring’s soon arrival. And of course, nothing makes me happier than Spring clothes! Especially white, delicate, lacey feminine tops, such as this Doen top! I can’t wait to buy it and WEAR it!

White, crisp, 100% cotton shirt. Perfection.

Those are the 5 things I am loving (a little bit of everything: music, movie, podasts, cookies, and shirts — what else do you need in life?) What are *YOU* currently loving? I hope you have a great week!
