Food Truck Wedding

My sister got married this weekend in an amazing wedding in Portland, OR (yes, we just relocated the family back from the West Coast the weekend prior… lots of travel!)  It was beautiful, heart warming, emotional, and fun. I am so #blessed (#sorrynotsorry) that I love my family as much as I do — my sisters, brother, and parents (obviously, my husband and kids too)– so much that I just want to be with them all the time (which makes my re-entry to NYC all that much more difficult).  Outside of the event and family, the highlight of the wedding was my sister’s WEDDING FOOD! BEST WEDDING FOOD EVER EVER EVER.  And not just any food, it was FOOD TRUCKS. Yep, food trucks at a wedding. And it was AWESOME. There were three food trucks for the main meal, and one food truck for dessert #Winning.

Hawaiian Cuisine? Yes please! This truck was from 808 Grinds and served an assortment of meats, rices, and sides. My favorite dish was the Fried Chicken.

Even though there were 135 people at the wedding, the service and food were fast. Ken, my brother and I divided and conquered — we each went to a different truck and basically hoarded and shared.  Then we ate like pigs.

The second truck was Slick’s Big Time BBQ, which featured bbq. Also delicious.

The third truck was Korean-Mexican fusion, Koi Fusion. LORD IT WAS SO BEYOND DELICIOUS. I want to recreate what I ate from there. I had a burrito with kimchi, some korean chicken, guacamole and sour cream. It was a whole lot of flavor and a whole lot of awesome. Beyond — and so original and unique.

The wedding was very Portland -esque. Industrial event space, views of Portland, food trucks, and doughnuts for desserts.

Voodoo doughnuts as the wedding “cake.” Everyone loved lining up for sweets at the end of the evening, and they even made HUUUUGE doughnuts of the love birds.

Sorry that I did not take a picture of any of the actual wedding food….I devoured everything before taking out my phone for photo opps. But trust me, so delicious.  Happy wedding Galen and Carl! The wedding was incredible, personal, and touching. And more importantly, I love you both so much! Congratulations, Galena and Welcome to the Family, Carl!

  1. Where did they get married at? I am having a hard time finding venues that allow trucks.
