Smudge Stick

Smudging is the act of burning sage (or other dried herbs, but most commonly sage) and is an ancient art, considered one of the oldest and purest forms of cleansing a person or place.  I love the hippy dippyness of cleansing a room or the spirit of a person with the strong, distinct smell of smoldering (sage) smoke.

Me getting smudged.

Me getting smudged. Negative energy BE GONE!

It is thought to be an effective method of energizing, blessing, cleansing, and healing a person or place. And even if you don’t believe it 100%, there is something really nice about going through the motions to burn off negative energy and start anew. Faking it until you make it, right?

Smudging can also be useful when you’re feeling depressed, angry, resentful, or in a new home and place.  You can smudge your home or work space as part of a general spiritual housecleaning. Who doesn’t love the feeling of spring cleaning and cleansing?

You can also DIY and make your own sage sticks.

You can purchase sage smudge sticks anywhere and everywhere, at home stores, Whole Foods, health Food stores, Amazon, etc.. My favorite smudge sticks can be found here and here and here. To find out more about HOW to smudge, go here and watch a youtube video here. Smudge sticks also make great house-warming presents, or feel good gifts, and are a good DIY activity for kids (especially if you want your kids to embrace their tie dye hippy roots, like me).

So pretty.

So pretty.

  3. The longer I see, the more the better that your material is.
I have covered a lot of their other sources, such as http://www.rtjournal.org/study-abroad-packing-list/; however, only here, I have discovered advice that was valid with facts that were
necessary to keep in mind. I imply you’ll print
articles with numerous themes to upgrade mine in particular,
our comprehension. The vocabulary is another brilliant!
I really believe I have found my supply of their very up-to-date information!
