Beginning of Summer…

Here we are, Oregon Summer 2015! I arrived just a little over 24 hours ago from New York and it feels like I never left. I must say that I have had a hard time adjusting the first week….I always want to make a plan and have a hard time not having a “busy schedule”. That said, after a week in Eugene, I get the hang of doing nothing and get to be way more mellow and relaxed (all of it disappears the moment that I land in NYC). Totally jet-lagged, exhausted, and tired, here is a quick look at some photos of my first 24 hours in Eugene.

A walk to a flat area (we live in a steep hill in every direction) where Tata (my father) could teach Cruzzie how to ride a bike.

The bike path! Day 1 of Manhattan child in the country, and he is SOOO close to riding a bike solo without training wheels! Tomorrow is the day! (and yes, we are late bloomers us city folk -- why bike when you have public transportation, scooters, and ubers?)

Day 1 of United States Track Championships. Super fun watching the women and men 400 m and 100 m!

AHHHHHH Eugene, how I love you!

Not pictured; my first run back with the Eugene Track Club, the delicious and healthy food cooked by my beloved mother (imagine a fava bean faro salad, chard / spinach / kale salad, and other healthy green variations), me getting mad at my parents for not paying enough attention to me (classic that I revert to being my 16 year old self), scorching 90+ degree weather, me in my pajamas at 630 pm, and very happy kids to be with their grandparents for the summer! I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I hope to adjust to west coast time and mentality STAT.

  1. That’s wonderful that your children get to spend the summer out of the city and experience a different kind of living! Have a great time!

  2. Can you please adopt me? I need to implement this lifestyle as well – stat.
