Clogmaster UPDATE!

When you look at my closet, aside from my Stan Smiths, Birkenstocks, and running shoes; the other pair of shoes I wear 99% of the time are my Clog Master Clogs. I wrote about the-amazing-comfortable-incredible-custom-made-clogs in July, 2013 (eeks almost 2 years ago), when Ken and I visited Cecilia’s storefront in Portland, Oregon.  But I never updated you all after we actually received them.  So ladies and gentlemen, here are pictures of the heavenly clogs. And if you are on the fence about making the schlep to an appointment or taking the time, trust me, it is definitely worth it. These are a gift to yourself. And your feet.

My collection. Once I purchased the clog master clogs, I never stepped foot again into my danskos. These shoes are life savers. They fit the foot perfectly (hence the custom nature of the clogs) and feel great to walk in.

Ken's brown clogs. WHO KNEW that a man in the fashion business would wear clogs as much as he does -- but honestly -- he wears them ALL THE TIME. I would have never pegged him as the type to wear clogs, but once he tried, he fell head over heels in love.

I would have never pegged him as the type to wear clogs, but once he tried them on, he couldn’t stop wearing them.  Easy to slip on and comfortable.  What else do you need?

Two heel heights. Normal and taller. Of course, the normal height is easier and more comfortable, but for a slightly edgier look or more sophisticated ensemble, the higher heel is a good option.

Cecilia has been a great supporter of the blog, keeping a link to my initial post on her website since I did it.  What inspired my update was a huge unexplained surge in traffic to the blog a few weeks ago.  After doing some digging, I discovered that the LA Times featured her, which drove a ton of traffic to her site, and a ton of traffic to the blog.  Circle of life!

If you live in Portland, Oregon, then you have lucked out (for more reasons than just Clog Master), but make an appointment and visit Cecilia to have these wonders made for your feet. To find out about her occasional fitting visits to LA and the east coast, go here. Once you have been fitted, you can just email her and request a new pair whenever you want. I can’t wait to order a brown pair (low heel) for the summer.

  1. I didn’t think I was a clog person but now I feel like I need these in my life!

  2. Josie, I went and got fitted by clogmaster while she is in LA this week, thanks to your post and the LA Times article. Since you own two heel heights, I can’t help but ask you some questions as I try to decide what to order. I think that the medium heel height is so cute and stylish, but clogmaster calls these “for fashion only” aka the benefits of clog shoes are null if you get them with a heel. You said that they definitely aren’t as comfortable as your low ones. If you were to do it again, which would you order? Did you feel “health” benefits from the low pair (aka posture, leg strength, etc)? Thanks so much!

    • Thanks for getting in touch, Lane! I have both the mid heel and the normal heel, and I love them both! I would get both. 🙂 But in all honesty, the clogmaster is correct….I find myself wanting to wear the lower heel more often, and so that shoe is definitely the one that gets used more frequently…..it is so comfortable and barely looks different, but the comfort level is certainly there. So in deciding between the two, I would definitely get the lower heel….hope that helps! and hope you like your clogs!

  3. Thanks for sharing! This is the first time I’ve heard of Clogmaster, and they look quite wonderful. I’ve been using Maguba clogs are it as a swedish company which have lots of quality choices on their site.

  4. Dear Josie, I loved Clogmasters, too. Is Sven’s now Clogmasters? If you know, would you please tell me? I’m really needing some new black clogs. And, in the last month, 4 people have asked me where I got my clogs! I am so disappointed that, as I had feared, the wrong fellow had been able to convince her to sell her business to him. Anyway, an update would be great! Thank you!
Love your blog! You go girl!
