Happy early Fashion Week! The Josie Natori Fall ’15 show is at 10 AM this morning. I’ll be recapping tomorrow, but check out Natori’s Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for coverage all day. Bonne chance! On to today’s post….
Even though my husband is the son of a fashion designer, his wardrobe was far from fashionable when I first met him. Think oversized shirts, boxy suits, pleated shorts, and even worse…. baggy pants. I don’t like taking credit for much, but I definitely have had a positive influence on his wardrobe, with the biggest difference being that Ken now wears clothes that fit. You gotta love a man in some tight fitting pants! Ken has improved his wardrobe with a number of different brands. I did a post a few years ago on shirts, and the latest evolution has been casual pants from Bonobos.
Bonobos was founded in 2007 at Stanford Business School by housemates Brian Spaly and Andy Dunn. Ken was class of 2005, and since you can count the number of Stanford grads in fashion on one hand, Ken has gotten to know both of them. While Andy now runs the company, Brian has moved on to do other amazing things – such as launching men’s styling service Trunk Club which he recently sold to Nordstrom (which also happens to be a minority investor in Bonobos). The circle of life!
Bonobos was really built on a few tenets. Great fitting pants. Innovation. And awesome customer service. While the company has moved into other categories, including golf, shirts, and even suits, pants are what put it on the map.
Bonobos started out online only, but it has since built a number of guideshops around the country. While the shops aren’t stocked with product (the associates place orders online for you), visiting a shop helps ensure you get the perfect fitting clothes, which is really what the experience is all about.
Bonobos now has guideshops all over the country, and you can always shop as well with free shipping and free returns. If you want your guy to wear better fitting clothes (especially pants), give them a shot!
I love the marriage certificate pic. But yes, those pants are definitely big!
Umm.. not sure I can convince my man to wear pants that tight. But nice work!
I need to bring my boyfriend to this store!
I love all of the color options and prints that they offer.. definitely need to bring a certain someone here whose dress pants closely resemble Ken’s from 2007.
Love Bonobos for my hubby too
Hm, will have to recommend to my fiance. Thanks!
