Thanksgiving is tomorrow, which means PARTY IN MY TUMMY.
One of my absolute favorite dishes happens to be green bean casserole. Maybe because I never ate it growing up, or maybe because it is so rich and creamy, decadent and savory. Whatever the case, if it is in front of me, I will eat the whole dish. So delicious.
As I recently discovered, fried onions are the secret to any dish. Green bean casserole, sandwiches, and salads. Seriously, you just sprinkle on fried onions and your dish becomes a party in your tummy. They are sugar-free, meat-free, and guilt-free. And I have found a brand I love: Lars’ Own crispy onions!
Imported from Holland, and made with only onions (thank goodness), vegetable oil, wheat flour and salt, they’re amazing over salads, baked potatoes, hamburgers, grilled fish, mac and cheese, or baked into bread. They are currently sold in Whole Foods, so run there NOW to get for your Thanksgiving meal. And for many meals after that, too. Thanksgiving leftovers should include a sandwich with turkey, cranberry, lettuce, and crispy onions. Pumpkin pie on the side, too!
Tomorrow, our plans include: walking to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (thank you, sister!), taking an hour spin class at Flywheel (thank you, Natalie), eating an enormous and filling meal (thank you, in-laws!), and watching my husband pretend to be engaged in conversation as he watches three football games (thank you, Ken and the NFL). Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

YO GABBA GABBA!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
It sounds like you had a good weekend. I’ll look for those fried onions. Other toppings on vegetables can be kale chips or hemp seeds.
