Easy Father’s Day Gifts

Don’t look now, but Father’s Day is right around the corner (Sunday, June 17th). I am pretty good about thinking ahead about gifts, but Father’s Day is definitely an exception. This wasn’t as big a deal before we started having kids, as my father is pretty laid back.  But given my expectations for Mother’s Day gifts from Ken, I feel like I need to step up to the plate a little more.

With that said, here are some quick last minute Father’s Day gifts that may look more thought out than they actually are (I hope Ken’s not reading this):

Johnnie-O Shirts

I already did a whole post on them, but in case you didn’t read it, I am a big fan of Johnnie-O shirts. They bring a West Coast flair to the otherwise too boring East Coast polo shirt.  Ken has about 15 of these, and wore them every weekend until he realized they were in all of our weekend pictures (check out the post… I am not joking).  They also have matching father/son shirts, which is an easy lay-up thoughtful present.  For those of you in New York, they are launching a pop-up shop Thursday night at the Roger Smith hotel.  Ken and I will be at the launch party- feel free to come and say hi!

Miansai Medium Wrap Rope Bracelet

This may not be for everyone, but I got this bracelet for Ken a few months ago, and I think it has definitely made him look a little more hip.  This works for him since he works in fashion, but admittedly may not be ideal for everyone.  And I definitely know some fathers (i.e., mine) that would never wear this.

Titleist Pro-IV Golf Balls

If your husband/father plays/pretends to play golf, this is a surefire, can’t miss present that will for sure be appreciated. Sentimental? No. But appreciated? No question.

Why these golf balls as opposed to any other? I am not sure, but apparently all golfers like them. They are ridiculously expensive, but cheaper throught the above link  than they would be if you bought them at a golf shop or sports store.

Family Magnets

Yes, true, these are more for Mother’s Day than for Father’s Day, but I could not resist. They are too cute and warm and fuzzy. I love magnets for the fridge. And people (I know girls more than guys, but we can pretend) always love pictures of their loved ones.

These are especially good for toddlers learning their letters. They can see family members' names and the attached letter and start reading.

Steaks

What man doesn’t love meat? Mine doesn’t think a meal is complete unless there is a big hunk of meat on the plate. As cheesy as it sounds, Omaha Steaks sells incredible steaks at a great price. Go ahead and make your man happy!

This is the last thing I would want as a present, but hey, this is Father's Day.

And a special shout out to the Fathers in my life! My own Papa, Ken’s Dad, and my husband. I love you all very much, and thank you for being the best Papas in the world!

Papa P is known to rock the birkenstocks with socks, handkerchief around neck, fanny pack, and tinted glasses. Despite being an Eastern European dresser (I mean, no harm, he IS Eastern European), he is also the most patient, loving, affectionate, smart, charming, and wonderful Papa. I have learned, and continue to learn, so much from him on a daily basis.

Ken's Dad is the sweetest, most dapper, soft, easy going, and lovely man. He always greets everyone with a big warm smile, is a master at working a crowd, and loves his family dearly. Always dressed to the nines, his warmness makes everyone feel at ease and comfortable.

Ken is an incredible father. He loves his children with all of his heart and makes them a priority. Everything he does is for the sake of his kids. He is the best bath giver, night time reader, joke maker, and shoulder-ride giver in the United States. Cruzzie and Zoe are SO incredibly lucky to have him as their father.

So, Josie Girls, don’t forget Father’s Day! Have a great rest of the week!
