Knockout Beauty Skin Routine

Last Spring, I had the opportunity to take a “master class” at Knockout Beauty. Knockout Beauty is a beautiful skincare store with highly educated and informed salespeople, where I have been purchasing skincare items for years. That said, it was my first time taking a class and getting a one on one experience of what worked best for my skin. It was INCREDIBLE. I learned SOOOO much and bought products that are right for my skin (without being pushed on me) and I highly suggest stopping by Knockout Beauty, or calling them and asking them for a skin consultation. These are my favorite four products that I cannot live without.

Current Beauty Favorites

Remember last week when I mentioned my dear friend who is ALWAYS in the know of beauty and skincare products? Well she amazingly offered to write up her CURRENT beauty favorites! I am so so so excited to share them with you — and thank you so much, Alicia! May we all have your incredible glowing skin, chic taste in everything, and style — you are one of a kind — love you oh so much!

1. Hermes Lipstick

Hermes lipstick- love it! I am more of a matte lipstick person so I love all the matte ones. Love the colors, great pinks and number 11 is the best natural color. Love the texture, design, and fragrance. They do everything so perfectly!

Augustinus Bader Skin Care Products

I first heard about Augustinus Bader skin care products from a dear friend that knows EVERYTHING about skincare. Anything she ever recommends, I always have to try out, because she is the queen of beauty. The moment I tried it, I was hooked. I am a devoted Augustinus Bader fan and will forever use their “the cream” on my face. Since I started using their face moisturizer (for over 3 years), they have since come out with many more products. Each of them are as good as the next. I am a huge fan of their new lip balm (feels like satin for your lips) and their body cream (heaven — it’s expensive, so I rotate with GOOPgenes butter).

My favorite trio: body cream, the cream, and lip balm. Luxuriously hydrating and effective.

Interview with Dr. Heather Rogers

I wrote about my obsession with Doctor Rogers RESTORE Healing Balm earlier this Spring — and it is true — I am fully addicted and can’t live without it. Therefore, it is quite an honor to interview Dr. Heather Rogers, the creator of RESTORE and a renowned dermatologist in Seattle. This is a must read for information on the balm, good skincare, and tips on how to live a healthy life! Thank you so much, Dr. Rogers!

And of course, as a talented doctor and entrepreneur she is also STRIKINGLY beautiful!

Dr. Whitney Bowe & The Beauty of Dirty Skin

Last summer, I had the privilege of interviewing good friend and dermatologist Dr. Whitney Bowe on the blog. And now, my ever so smart, charming, and oh-so-beautiful friend just wrote a book called “The Beauty of Dirty Skin” available in bookstores and on Amazon. As a fan (and friend) of Dr. Bowe, I was super excited to get the book and read it. It is educational with great resources and information on nutrition, skin care, and aging.  Read below for a behind the scenes interview with Dr. Bowe!

The newly released book: The Beauty of Dirty Skin

One chapter of your book is on “the secret to great skin”. Can you give us a quick summary?

Doctor Rogers Restore Healing Balm

For the past two solid years, a good friend of mine has been telling me about Doctor Rogers Restore Healing Balm and how it was THE NEXT BEST THING. Unfortunately, I kept forgetting about it (#blonde and #BeautyAddict) until this past weekend when she gifted it to me. And now, I am wondering HOW IN THE WORLD DID I FORGET AND NOT REMEMBER THIS LITTLE MIRACLE IN A TUBE? It is so good, so memorable, so powerful, and a must have. This little miracle tube, created by a Seattle based dermatologist (Dr. Rogers) is incredibly soothing and healing for dry, damaged skin, lips and nails. It not only has lots of hydration powers and protection, but it is also made with high quality ingredients (non-petroleum and all-natural), making it a must.

Best Beauty Secret

A dear friend of mine, who also happens to be extremely opinionated and firm on all her decisions, told me that the best beauty secret for her skin was coconut oil. Yes, yes, I am a huge believer in coconut oil for the body, and have always splurged on the expensive kinds that are made for the body. This friend told me not to buy the expensive kind, but rather, the kind in a health food store, and to use it all over your body, including your face. So, after a while of experimenting on my face and skin, I have finally figured out the right amount (a little goes a long way), and man DO I LOVE IT. SERIOUSLY, it is the best moisturizer and feels so good on the body and the face, makes your skin glow, and is inexpensive too. TRIPLE WHAMMY WIN!

Looks and appears basic. BUT IT IS FAR FROM BASIC.

Interview with Dr. Whitney Bowe

Dermatologist to the stars/TV personality Dr. Whitney Bowe is a dear friend of mine who happens to also be on the of the most beautiful and smart people I know. She has the looks (the bowe-glow), the charm (no one more charismatic and charming ), and the smarts (she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Yale and then was awarded a full scholarship to study medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated top of her class). Luckily, I was able to interview her on Summer Skin — this is a must read! Thanks, Whit, I love you!

Make Up Artist: Oscar Caballero

There is only one person I really trust to give me make up advice, and that is Oscar Caballero. I first met him 4 years ago at Barney’s in the makeup department where he works for Natura Bisse.  He also works independently as a make-up artist.  From day one, there was just an instant feeling of comfort and trust, and I went to him for advice on skincare and makeup. Since then, he has done my makeup countless times, as well as my mother-in-law’s.  He is also a friend.  Enjoy this interview… ladies… here are some great tips from an expert!

Kypris Moonlight Catalyst

As a female in my late  30s (denial), I constantly feel like I am fighting wrinkles and / or acne. So, I am constantly searching for the right moisturizer, serum, magic potion. I want my skin to be hydrated (decrease wrinkles) while combating acne (no oil).  So when I found out about Kypris Moonlight Catalyst, a night-time serum that helps BOTH, I was over the moon. And highly hopeful.

Fall Beauty Buys

The chaos of back-to-school, back-to-NYC, and the change of seasons always motivates me to clean and organize my house. I purge all that I don’t need (in a mad frenzy), and then feel the ‘need’ to restock my empty shelves with new and improved beauty products. So here are my current Fall Beauty Buys! I love them all!
