Welcome back to reality of school / work / routine / the busy life before the holidays…..I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I had a great long weekend with my family and enjoyed every minute — so much to be thankful and grateful for. Although it was super low key and we didn’t do anything too out of the ordinary, each day we did something fun and exciting (more on that later). We were quite active, spent a lot of time outdoors, visited best friends, and had an overall great holiday. One of the highlights was the Macy’s Day Parade on Thanksgiving morning. We are good friends with the Macy’s Executive Chairman and so this time around, we were treated like true VIPs and celebrities (we had a detective escort us to our seats)! The one and only time that this will happen to us — and we loved every minute!
It was super cold Thanksgiving morning, and we knew that we were going to be sitting for several hours. We had vests, double layered pants, and long underwear UNDER our jackets. Thank goodness, because we were still cold.
We met our detective on 72nd and 5th avenue and were escorted to the start of the parade (on Central Park West) by GOLF CART! I bet that that will be the only time I ride through Manhattan on a golf cart — super fun and exciting!
Once we arrived, we were INSIDE the parade which was another whole level of confusion. The detective escorted us to our front row seats at the start (with the NBC crew) and we had a great view.
The Power Ranger balloon was super cool.
There were a ton of floats with celebrities who (awkwardly) waved. This is Aretha Franklin. I liked the floats with Jimmy Fallon and Common best — because they are two of my favorites, and they waved at us!
We also saw celebrities when walking to our seats — the band 98 degrees, Mayor De Blasio (as pictured), and more….

Toosh’s favorite balloon was Hello Kitty, and her favorite float was with Miss America — a true girlie girl.
I love butter, so obviously, I loved the dancing butter people. But come on — what is not to love about a parade? People get to DANCE and perform and WAVE in the street? I think that this is my next calling — to perform and wave in parades. Sign me up please.

So the parade was definitely the highlight of Thanksgiving, and the right way to kick off to the rest of our fun-filled weekend! I hope you also had a great one too and are settling back in to life. Have a good week!
