1st Week of Summer 2017 in Oregon

It is hard to believe that ten days ago, I was in NYC….it feels like I’ve been gone for months! My life in Oregon is quite simple, but it is easy, wonderful, and I love it. Here are some pictures of the past week – Enjoy!

We do a lot of biking in Eugene. My parents actually don't drive anywhere, they SOLELY bike. So we have fun biking around the river, picking the kids up from camp, or just doing errands. In this photo, I am with my daughter and my littlest niece, Nadia.

I am also in the process of (witnessing) Tusia learn how to ride a two wheel bike. My father is inspector gadget and taught Cruzzie two years ago, so now we are doing boot camp every day for her to learn -- she is so close after a little time doing it!

The cousins visited over the long holiday weekend and it was incredible to see the kids interact and love each other so much. Of course, we hiked, because families that hike together, stay together.

In the ten days we have been in Oregon, the kids have gone to camp for five days. It is the Oregon Sports camp and it is an incredible program. The kids love it, as do I (I went as a kid!) They do a variety of sports and are outside most of the day. Although the camp day ends at 430, I always pick them up at 230 so I can have some time with them....I miss them during the day if not!

We relax. In this photo, the kids were with their cousins and wanted to be away from us parents -- it was like watching them as official teenagers. They sat together on their own, playing games and just chatting. I love seeing them so happy with each other, but it also made me teary thinking HOW grown up they now are!

Berry picking! Yesterday, we went to a farm and picked cherries and blueberries. It was an incredibly warm day outside, so it was tiring but Tusia did NOT want to leave she was having so much fun.

We spend 100 percent of the day time outside and are so active that at 8 pm, I am ready for bed!  Of course, in addition to these activities, I am reading (done with three books in a week!), running (lots of it), playing tennis (first lesson in 18 years!), taking barre classes (truly enjoy it), drinking lots of coffee (can never have too much), eating great food (which also means going to the grocery store a lot), and watching lots of Wimbledon. That is my life in a nutshell on repeat! Groundhogs day everyday, but I couldn’t love it more. Have a great weekend.

  1. Genius way to teach bike riding! Can’t get my little one off of training wheels.

  2. Such great pictures! Welcome home and I hope to see you this summer xoxo

  3. We’re having such a beautiful summer in the PNW so far! I live in West Seattle and was visiting my folks up in Sequim for the 4th. My dad always says “we are so lucky to live in this part of the country!”, and I couldn’t agree more. The evergreens, the sparkling water, ferry rides and that clear blue sky. We live for these glorious months!
