Currently Loving November 2016

Sorry for not doing my typical three posts last week. Truth be told, I was a little (or a lot) paralyzed by the election results and just couldn’t function.  I have been experiencing the grief cycle, and finally feel able to be a little more positive… I hope that feeling lasts more than an hour. In the meantime, here is what I am currently loving this November:

1. My number 1 podcast, How I Built This

A good listen

I go through phases with  different podcasts, but “How I Built This” is the one that I listen to every single week. And can’t wait for the following week’s edition.

2. My new twofer

Double the pleasure.

It works as a blazer AND / OR a coat. Double the mileage — double the pleasure.

3. I can’t stop listening! Hamilton Mixtape.

Mixtape

To say I am obsessed is an understatement. Basically, I listen to the two songs that are out (It’s Quiet Uptown and My Shot) on repeat. Kelly Clarkson’s version of It’s Quiet Uptown had me in tears throughout last week. To see the whole tracklist, go here.

4. My new cookbook, Small Victories.

Small Victories

Recommended by a friend, I am so excited to cook the recipes from this cookbook. The author is the writer and developer of Gwyneth Paltrow’s cookbooks, which I have always loved. The recipes look simple, healthy, and attainable.

5. Natori legwear

It is finally tights weather on the East Coast.

It is finally tights weather on the East Coast. And finally, Natori now makes tights, socks, and hosiery!

I hope everyone is settling into November, breathing and doing okay post election. I will be back to my normal MWF posting, and thanks for understanding my little break last week.

  1. Anika, you are not alone in your grief cycle from the election. If you haven’t watched the opening from SNL this past Saturday, it’s a must see (and Chapelle was brilliant too). It helped me move a baby step forward in my grieving process.
