Russ & Daughters

The new Russ and Daughters inside The Jewish Museum is a must eat and must see destination! This past Sunday, when my father was in town, we had the chance to go to Brunch with the family and celebrate my side of the family’s heritage.

Located in the basement of the museum, it is in fact sub-terranean, but still a great location to visit even with no windows.

You can also get take-out bagels, baked goods, smoked fish, etc...or you can sit down, which is what we did.

My chopped salad: Yes, I ate a salad at 9 am. And a salad with whitefish. And I would get it again at 9 am in a heartbeat.

And I also had a side of babka french toast. HOLY CRAP, indulgent, rich, and oh-so-good.

The menu. Everything looks to die for, and we can't wait to go back again.

The Jewish Museum. Doesn't hurt that the entrance into the restaurant is beautiful, surreal, and whimsical.

The Jewish Museum is located on 92nd and 5th Avenue. And it is worth going to, whether or not you are jewish.

Regardless of your religious affiliation, I would make a point to go to this restaurant. It is fun, family-owned, delicious, and oh-so-NYC. So make the trek uptown and get your babka on. Have a good weekend!

  1. Love the one on the LES but it gets pretty crowded on the weekends. Looks empty there!

  2. I live pretty close by. I’m going to have to check out the museum and this restaurant! Love that gorgeous chandelier!
