Mexico 2016 Highlights

Like last year, we spent the first portion of Spring Break in Bucerias, Mexico at my uncle’s beach house. My mother, born and raised in Mexico City, still has two brothers that live in Mexico. And fortunately for us, one of them has a beautiful beach house in Bucerias, a sleepy-non-tourist town north of Puerto Vallarta, on the west coast of Mexico. Here are the highlights from our ten day vacation with Nana and Tata!

The house, located a block from the beach, is on the top of a hill with a lush gorgeous green garden, with beautiful flowers (and lots of colorful insects, too).

The beach. The waves tended to be quite large and rough, but that did not stop us from spending each and every morning playing in the ocean.

The last days of the short short swimming trunks. After 6.5 years, Cruzzie told me he will no longer wear his European swimsuits -- I am heart broken -- but glad that it lasted as long as it did.....now we are wearing bigger and longer shorts, but never board shorts.

The afternoons were spent lounging in the yard with the pool, and making a trek down (3 minute walk) to the local tienda to get ice cream.

Fruit loops are given to the kids on vacation....so it means it is their breakfast dessert, lunch dessert, and dinner dessert. AKA #ParentingForTheWin

Walking to the beach, don't you love the random beautiful tiles on the way to the beach? So mexican and so beautiful.

Thanks, Nana and Tata for a great vacation, once again! We look forward to seeing you all summer long in Oregon! We love you and love our time in Mexico with you two.

We are now in Puerto Rico with Ken’s parents through Saturday.  More pictures to come!  Until then, have a good weekend.
