Summertime in Sunriver

Fall is in full swing and I am (incredibly) nostalgic about sunshine, bathing suits, vacation, less scheduled time, and popsicles. So throwback (#MondayMemories — such a thing, HA!) to August when we traveled with our best friends (who don’t like the internet) and all our kids to one of my favorite places to travel: Sunriver, Oregon. Growing up, we would go there twice a year for family vacations; always to ski. Winter ski trip and Spring ski trip. Only once did I go to Sunriver in the summer, when I was invited in middle school with a friends’ family. Our trip this summer did not disappoint and we thoroughly enjoyed each and every minute — activities, relaxation, and quality time all together.

An ice cream cone a day keeps the doctor away. A crowd favorite, ice cream (and candy) from good 'ol Goodies!

Alpine Express....and, sigh...I think Cruzzie might be too old for these types of things these days. He used to be in love with trains, planes, automobiles...but now, the newness has warn off, and it no longer makes him so happy. Growing up sucks.

We went rafting down the Deschutes River -- so fun -- and had a blast, just would have swapped kids with beer.

Lots of biking, thumbs up, dude.

The scenery -- usually you can see the Cascade mountains, but there were wild forest fires in both direction so there were no mountains in sight. Kind of felt like we were staying in a bubble of a town -- supposed to be a ski town, but no mountain in sight.

Love this shot. Almost as cute as his tush.

Coffee. Best coffee store EVER EVER EVER. Oh yeah, and a Lady and the Tramp moment between brother and sister. And not with coffee, but with hot chocolate (#ThatWouldBeBadParenting)

We also swam at the Sunriver resort pool (you can also go to the SHARC), ate big meals at the house, boys golfed, and tons of laughs with great friends. I can’t wait to go back again next summer, a highly family fun vacation destination! Countdown to next Summer in Sunriver with OFWDLI (Our Friends Who Don’t Like Internet). Until then…back to real life and hellloooooooo October!

  1. Ah such precious family photos. I thought my pumpkin spice coffee was satisfying until you reminded me of the wonders of summer!

  2. Sunriver looks like a wonderful place to visit! I love both of your kids facial expressions in the raft picture ?
