Currently Loving….In the Kitchen!

One of my favorite pastimes is scouring the grocery store and finding new items to eat. I love food, and I love trying new things! So here is what I am currently loving in the kitchen (and in my belly!)

Dough Nutella Doughnut

Looks sweet and delicous, right?

Totally obsessed with this nutella doughnut from Dough. I mean how could I not be??? Don’t the pictures say it all? No need to explain what it is or how delicious it is.  Nutella mentions two posts in a row!

Cocomama Quinoa Cereal

Quinoa Cereal — in a single packet.

Meet your new BFF, why hello there.

Meet your new BFF, why hello there.

Cooked in small batches, this cereal is ready to eat just from the packet — either as is, or heated up. It is similar to oatmeal or cream of wheat (my favorite breakfast / lunch / dinner growing up!), except that it has more protein.  It is made with whole grain quinoa, light coconut milk, real fruit and natural sweeteners. I like to eat it for breakfast, as my snack before a run, or as an afternoon pick me up. It is easy to prepare (you just have to rip the top off), and delicious. Plus it comes in four different flavors: Banana Cinnamon, Wild Blueberry, Orange Cranberry, and Honey Almond. All delicious.

Vermont Real Sticks Turkey Ancho Stick

Real sticks.

Real sticks.

MEEEEAT.

MEEEEAT.

Made from scratch in Vermont, this meat stick is great to snack on. It is a turkey stick, full of protein and big flavor. I like to have it in my purse so wherever I go, I have something to eat (otherwise, I get severely hungry). This specific flavor is made of ground Ancho chilis, so it is like eating a turkey burrito stick with extra salsa! A good combination for this half mexican chick! And yes it is made with humanely grown turkey – no antibiotics, sodium nitrite, nitrites, gluten, nuts, or milk. Just pure old meat.

Anita’s Coconut Yogurt

Can't judge the book by its cover, but how beautiful is the packaging??

I have read about this yogurt on various health blogs over the past couple of years, but it is difficult to find. Finally, I found it at Health Nuts near my house (favorite health food store in NYC!). This coconut yogurt is rich, decadent, filling, and oh so good. I add honey or jam and call it my dessert. (Well after eating my doughnut of course) It is packed with flavor, probiotics, and healthy fat. It is a vegan treat like no other!

So there you have it, my current loves in the kitchen. What are you loving to eat / drink / indulge in these days! Do share! And have a great week! Let’s hope that the East Coast is DONE WITH THE DAMN SNOW AND COLD. I am *soooo* over it. Sigh.
