Dang Coconut Chips

Hope everyone had a nice weekend….I ended up getting the stomach flu on Friday….and let me tell you it was SO

UNFUN. Beyond unfun. Horrible. Horrific. Nightmare. Barf. Gross. Gulp. NEVER AGAIN. Oh My Goodness. Luckily, I had a devoted and loving husband; understanding and caring children; and wonderful, supportive friends. And I was better in no time at all!

I woke up to these beautiful flowers from the flu. These of course put a smile on my face.

Spring is here (SOON!)

Spring is here (SOON!) Pink + Green = true love.

But back to the post. I am a freak about coconut and can’t seem to get enough! Slightly odd since it is one of the few items of food that my Papa doesn’t like (he is the best eater in the world).  But in all honesty, I could live off of JUST coconut. So, thank you Dang, for becoming my newest coconut indulgence.

Dang!

Dang, the Coconut chip, is completely addicting. You can’t just take one bite. Or at least I can’t. And yes, dang, that’s good (dang’s motto, not just my wit). Crisp, crunchy, sweet, and satisfying, this little toasted flake of coconut is perfect on its own or a great addition to yogurt, ice cream, and/or cereal. Just the perfect crunch.

Dang was named after the founder’s mother (Dang was the name) as she made a fabulous Thai lettuce wrap (from her native Thailand).  The original feature of the wrap was the sweet, toasted coconut chip inside. And voila!

The chips are made from the nutrient-packed copra. The meat is sliced out of the mature coconuts, then gently toasted until golden brown with the perfect pinch of sugar and salt. They come in two flavors: Caramel Sea Salt and Toasted Coconut.

Toasted perfection!

So, if you are like me, you will order a dozen packs of this goodness! Buy them here. Check out the NYTimes write up here. And enjoy! Beyond delicious!

Hope everyone has a great start to February, my birth month!

    • Not yet! Can’t wait to try the second flavor. In the meantime, I am loving the original.
