Deliciousness Green

In between a workout and a doctor’s visit, I found myself at this little hole in the wall juice joint on 6th Avenue between 12th and 13th street. In the mood for something green, I picked up a smoothie that had the following:

* Protein powder

* Spirulina

* Orange

* Pineapple

* Banana

It sounds like a weird combination, but it is a green smoothie made in heaven. I recreated it at home the next day but instead of using spirulina, I used nanogreens, and it was just as delicious. The combination of orange (I had no idea you could put citrus into a smoothie and have it taste so good) and pineapple was incredibly refreshing and satisfying. Yummmmmmmmmmmm. And healthy, too!

Since I don’t get the chance to go downtown all that often, 99% of the time I make my own smoothie for breakfast. It is so refreshing, filling, healthy, and delicious.

2 scoops of protein powder

1 scoop of nanogreens

1 cup of frozen fruit (I like using the organic tropical mix from Whole Foods that has bananas, mangoes and strawberry chunks)

1 cup of water

Nano Greens

Mix, serve, drink and sigh!

  1. Yum! I use crushed mint leaves in my green smoothies, it makes it even more refreshing. Keep up the good posts!
